Don’t forget to include games for your Luau party, which can really add to the fun. There are a number of games to choose from. Try to go for the ones which you and your guests will enjoy the most. Choose games that are not hazardous or too strenuous.
Hula Hoop Contest – This is one of the most popular Luau games. Prizes are awarded to the person who can hula the longest, and for the person who can successfully hula the most hoops. Little girls can wear grass skirts while they hula which is very cute.
Limbo contest – This is one of the more popular ones. The contest is meant to find out who can limbo the lowest and prize is awarded to that person. Be careful, don’t hurt yourself.
Rolling Stones - An ancient Hawaiian game, very similar to horseshoes. The aim here is to set up a post or stick on the ground and everyone picks up a stone, throw, and tries to hit the post. The person who hits or whose stone is closest to the post wins.
Pineapple Bowling – Arrange a triangle of pineapple “pins”, bowl a coconut and try to knock down all the “pins”.
Hot Coconut – This game is played similar to “hot potato”. As everyone sits in a circle, a Luau Party Music is being played. The coconut is then passed from one to the next and as soon as the music stops, the person holding the coconut leaves the circle. The last person to remain wins.
